Welcome lovers of Latin Dancing. It was the 1930 through the late 1950s which saw a steady increase of the creative nature of Latin dance, Latina danza within the Island nation of Cuba. Then after the appearance and subsequent take over of Fidel Castro, almost everything went bust, and north. The action switched from Havana, to both Miami, and then to New York City-where most of the money was. The sanctions impossed upon the happless peoples of the isle of Cuba did not help maters either-it left them completely culturally vulnerable to the slick operators in New York City looking for a quick buck. In fact they created the Salsa movement solely for that purpose. First to dominate the action, and then move in, and with Cuba isolated, the consciousness necessary to see what was happening was simply not there. This is juist only an introduction to this new board. Please join as a member of this discussion forum group. The reason being is that an attempt must be made to repatriot Latina danza central leadership back to Havana, Cuba after the passing of Fidel Castro. Yours, Mr. Roger M.
